the reconstruction of the removal of the 13-year-old who was found safe and sound

The State Police reconstructs the investigative stages that led to the discovery on Monday in Ragusa of the thirteen-year-old girl from Forlì who disappeared on May 30th. Her mother had turned to the police station to report the disappearance of her daughter, providing a description of the young woman, including some details, such as the absence of telephones, credit cards and money; the young woman had only a backpack and a diary with her. After the activation of the Search Plan for Missing Persons, Flying Squad personnel began information activities by interviewing friends and acquaintances, including monitoring social media. Thanks also to the collaboration of the Postal Police and the Mobile Squads of the Police Headquarters of Reggio Emilia and Brescia, it was possible to reconstruct the journey followed by the young woman who, after leaving Forlì, took the train to head to Modena and Brescia.

Brescia itself was the decisive stage that made it possible to trace the minor. In fact, the turning point occurred on Monday afternoon. The investigators of the Brescia Flying Squad tracked down a foreign citizen in Salò who, from the monitoring carried out by the Forlì investigators, had had a meeting with the young woman after her disappearance. The man, initially uncooperative, finally admitted that he had met her and that he had learned from her younger daughter that she wanted to go to Sicily. Then the searches were directed to Sicily, to Ragusa in particular, where the minor was finally tracked down by the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters. Investigations are underway to understand the reasons for the trip to Sicily, presumably to reach a friend of hers. The State Police immediately notified her mother who thanked the police for their work.
