LAMEZIA TERME «In March 2026 the works will be completed and the installation of the technologies will begin, to arrive, in the month of May, at the completion and installation of the technological equipment and, with them, the start of the activities». This is the “deadline” for the creation of the Film studios in the industrial area of Lamezia Terme organized by the Calabria Film Commission Foundation: the timing is taken from the three-year program for cinematographic and audiovisual activity adopted in recent days by the regional council.
The timetable
The document includes among the six strategic lines of interventions in the Region’s plans, illustrating in a technical sheet also a sort of timetable for the construction of the Studios, which in recent days is also affected by some filming for the TV series “Sandokan”. «After the approval of the executive design, in December 2023, in the month of February – we read in the program – partial delivery of the area cleaning works was carried out and the first construction activities began and execution of research and possible clearance of war ordnance. In May 2024 the final delivery of the works, the completion of the construction site, the arrangement of the area, the construction of the fences and the start of the jet grouting execution. The work program includes completion of jet grouting and start of construction of further foundation works by August 2024. The installation of the prefabricated structures is scheduled to begin in October 2024 the completion of the prefabricated structures in February 2025 and the start of the external arrangement. The start of the works to complete the internal rooms with the creation of the partitions of the rooms, the roofs of the buildings, the systems inside the buildings and outside the area, should take place in the month of May 2025 while in the month of October the same year the start of the internal and external finishing works is scheduled, including the completion of the external arrangement and the start of the procedures for the supply of the technological equipment to accompany the functional units”. The last step: «In March 2026 – the Region’s program continues – the works will be completed and the start of the installation of the technologies, to arrive, in the month of May, at the completion and installation of the technological equipment and, with them, the start of the activities”. The three-year program also takes into account the investment for the construction of the Studios in Lamezia Terme: 10 million with financing channels from the 2014-2020 Pac and the 2014-2020 Psc.
