L’AQUILA – “The citizens have demonstrated great honesty for the umpteenth time, 50 percent of those who received the notice forwarded by the Municipality of L’Aquila, in fact, have already returned the autonomous accommodation contribution unduly received, for a total sum of approximately 1 million euros. The controversy advocated by the Democratic Party therefore sounds instrumental and unacceptable which, evidently in the absence of arguments, is riding a situation that the past centre-left administration was careful not to manage appropriately”. Thus the Fdi group leader in the city council, Leonardo Scimia, on the CAS amounts unduly received by the citizens of L’Aquila.
“When we were made aware of the situation we did what every good administrator should do to try to recover the CAS amounts unduly received and to avoid the possibility of fiscal damage for the Municipality of L’Aquila. Furthermore, sums that the Municipality of L’Aquila should have requested already in 2010. To date, 2641 notices have been sent, of which 1666 have been paid, while others are in the process of being collected. In the context of debt collection operations, we recorded approximately 3.6 percent of disputes, a small percentage compared to the affected audience. Thanks to my administrative training and thanks to the ability of managers and officials in the Budget sector, we have based the management of the institution on principles of correctness and responsiveness to reality and the results are there for all to see”, concluded the city councilor.
