There were so many of them, including some girls”: This is one of the testimonies of the people who were present around 10pm on Monday 3 June at the horrible attack which occurred against a man who was in the 24 hour petrol station in front of the Trani station, in Piazza XX Settembre.

All together they began to annoy the unfortunate man until one of them punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious after hitting his head.

Some passers-by who witnessed the scene called the police, who arrived on the scene together with an ambulance which rescued the man, while the group disappeared into the surrounding streets.

No other details of the incident are known at the moment, except that the witnesses provided descriptions of some of the boys, especially the bully who inflicted the blow on the victim of the attack, who due to the blow and the fall would have lost also a lot of blood.

A small crowd of people quickly formed on the spot and tried to help the attacked young man, alarmed by the screams and cries coming from Piazza XX Settembre. “I saw people running away in fear, and I could hear the screams of girls and boys, only with the arrival of the police did calm return”, reported Francesco Pansitta, who ran from the bar in Corso Cavour attracted by the screams that they came from the station.
