Confcooperative Umbria: “The approval of the provision on fees for social and health services is good”

Confcooperative Umbria expresses profound satisfaction with the approval of the provision by the Regional Council of Umbria, which introduces a revision of the fees for social and health services. This is what emerged from the press conference in lMonday 3 June in which, in the presence of the Governor of Umbria, Donatella Tesei, it was underlined how “this significant advancement represents a fundamental step for the social cooperatives belonging to Confcooperative Umbria, allowing them to fulfill the commitments undertaken in the recent renewal of the National Collective Agreement of social cooperation”.

“We acknowledge – said the regional president of the business association, Carlo Di Somma – that the path, as announced in our Regional Assembly by president Tesei, has come to an end with a positive outcome: we are now able to face the new standards that aim to improve the quality of the services offered and to ensure adequate recognition of the valuable work carried out by our members. This provision represents an important step forward for the entire social cooperation sector in Umbria, demonstrating the effectiveness of collaboration between institutions and cooperatives. Now we will proceed with the signing of the agreement which will then start the accreditation renewal procedures and the new agreements, in which we ask that the lines developed in this process be respected for the maintenance of the entire system.”

The president of Confcooperative-Federsolidarietà, Roberta Veltrini, also underlined the importance of this decision: “This is a long-awaited measure. In some cases, the fees had remained unchanged since 2005. Thanks to this Regional Council, which has demonstrated particular sensitivity and great determination in completing this journey, today we can finally see the concrete results of a shared commitment. This update of fees is essential to ensure the economic sustainability of social cooperatives and to continue offering high quality services to the people who need them most.” The regional secretary of Confcooperative Umbria, Lorenzo Mariani, echoes her: “This act allows us to look with greater confidence at the very survival of social cooperative enterprises and our regional welfare. 9,500 operators who offer essential services to families and vulnerable individuals find employment in social cooperative enterprises, significantly improving the quality of life of 100,000 Umbrian citizens. The revision of the fees represents a sign of attention and responsibility towards the human capital of the Umbrian social cooperatives belonging to Confcooperative and beyond, with average adjustment percentages of around 15% but which, in certain bands, will reach full capacity even around 20%. %”.

Confcooperative Umbria, as is known, has always been committed to the promotion and support of social cooperation, with the aim of continuously improving the quality of the services offered and guaranteeing dignified and fair working conditions for all its members. This provision therefore marks a fundamental stage in the growth and development of the sector. The revision of fees not only responds to current economic needs, but also recognizes the value of the work carried out by social cooperatives in the community.

“Today an important discussion was held with the Region – concludes Di Somma – to discuss the details of the concrete application of the approved resolution. Meeting which represents an impetus for the implementation of the new fees and the definition of operational standards, ensuring that cooperatives can continue to provide excellent services and respect the commitments made with their workers. For this reason we can only express our thanks to the members of the cooperatives present for their continuous commitment and dedication and thanks to President Tesei for her courageous and far-sighted political choice”. Tesei who in addressing the operators and the press highlighted how “with the DGR the Regional Council has chosen to keep the bar of the socio-health service in our region high, giving the right value to the work of the thousands of operators of the Umbrian social cooperatives for the benefit of our entire regional community and doing so in an objective and non-subjective manner. This is a choice that looks to the present and future of our community, closing a game that was stopped 15 years ago, i.e. 2009, the date to which the last resolution on tariffs of the Regional Council dates back to, net of “bridge measures”. always adopted by the current Regional Council during and after covid”.

Regional Councilor Andrea Fora, who spoke at the seminar, also spoke about a “unique intervention in Italy which goes hand in hand with the subsequent provision of the City Council of Perugia and Terni, to which it is hoped that all other Municipal Administrations will adapt”. Also present was Dr. Francesco Francescaglia representing the entire regional structure. “A big thank you to him – concluded Di Somma – for his contribution towards the success of the process in favor of the 9,500 worker members who work daily in the Umbrian social cooperatives providing services to around 90,000 Umbrian citizens”
