“Festivalove, success stronger than the weather”

Great success, despite the bad weather, for the Festivalove: there is satisfaction in Scandiano for the numerous events organized from 31 May to 2 June in the Boiard city.

“As an administration – says Matteo Caffettani, councilor for the active city – we are happy. The weather was not always kind, but we avoided problems and inconveniences. The assessment of the event will be made by also listening to the traders. Due to the adverse weather we have changed some location. We are however satisfied with the good attendance during the festival, especially on Saturday. Many people attended Noemi’s concert as well as in Piazza Spallanzani many young people took part in the musical events with Microclub and Prosperosa”.

The debates and meetings promoted during the event were appreciated by the public. “Daniele Silvestri’s final concert – underlines councilor Caffettani – was very beautiful with positive comments from the public: 730 tickets were sold”.

Giovanni Campani, president of Confersercenti dei Comuni dell’Unione Tresinaro Secchia, underlines that the weather this year “did not help the Festivalove. However, I saw a lot of people during the three days. The festival is always a very important event for Scandiano” .

The collaboration of the Scandian associations and traders was fundamental. “Many people arrived in Scandiano – highlights Federica Boni Iotti, president of the traders’ association –. We are happy even if the bad weather penalized the festival a bit. For the future it is therefore necessary to concentrate on always investing in big names. Now We are waiting for traders’ assessments regarding sales. However, it is important to see a town full of people, as happened last weekend, involving young people and adults.” Even the mayor Matteo Nasciuti expressed satisfaction: “This year we defied the weather, but Scandiano and Festivalove were a marvel as always. The sky threw a tantrum, but it didn’t discourage anyone. For three days we opened and closed the umbrella; after all it was worth it. We listened to a university professor talk about food waste and a journalist tell stories, we sang at the top of our lungs in Piazza Fiume and danced until late in Piazza Spallanzani. All this because a lot of people had us believed, decided to invest time, ideas and passion in a festival dedicated to love”.
