The exhibition of Stefano Pizzi and Nicola Salvatore edited by the critic prof. Massimo Bignardi, begins the five-year “Profili” exhibition, conceived and designed by Aiello Foundation for the Lucanian territory, and follows in the wake of a happy cultural relationship undertaken with some well-known artists from the Brera Academy.

The collaboration began with the exhibition of the fifteen engravings by Domenico Cantatore dedicated to Rocco Scotellaro, in June 2023, at the Academy Library which was followed by “TRIBUTE TO SCOTELLARO: thirty Masters of Brera for the Lucanian poet” set up, in autumn in Moliterno in the Palazzo SantaCroce, and subsequently in Matera, in the exhibition rooms of the APT Basilicata.

Friday 7 June 2024at 6pm the double personal exhibition dedicated to the masters will be inaugurated at Palazzo SantaCroce in Moliterno Stefano Pizzi And Nicola Salvatoreformer holders of the Chair of Painting at the Brera Academy and significant exponents of the national and international artistic debate.

The exhibition offers a selection of recent works, while confirming the autonomy of the languages of these authors compared to the current production of contemporary art.

“I have known Stefano Pizzi and Nicola Salvatore for years – writes the critic prof. Massimo Bignardi –, since I taught at the Brera Academy during the nineties. Both artists come from an education that breathed the climate of what had happened in art in the second half of the Sixties.

A pop figure that, over the years, while retaining a verve ironic, sometimes playful, it has gradually lost its connection with the images of mass culture”.
