The Rimini State Police, engaged in tight controls regarding public order and safety, urban decorum, the regularity of accommodation facilities and the verification of presences, proceeded to carry out an inspection at an accommodation facility located in the southern area of Rimini.
In particular, personnel from the local Administrative Police Division of the Rimini Police Headquarters, together with the crews of the Bologna Crime Prevention Department, identified 14 people housed in the structure, of which 11 were foreigners.
Among the latter, a 47-year-old citizen of Tunisian nationality was identified, who, from the checks carried out subsequently by the staff of the Immigration Office of the Rimini Police Headquarters, was found to be irregularly present on the national territory and already the recipient of expulsion orders.
From the officers’ investigations he was recognized as the person who, in the past, again in Rimini, had been the protagonist of violent acts which had led to several convictions for assaults and injuries, as well as for resistance and violence towards the police.
In particular, he was identified as the person who, in June 2020, completely drunk, had destroyed an ambulance with an iron bar, and attacked passers-by and policemen, in the seaside area of Rimini, shouting abusive phrases at anyone, spreading the panic for over two hours; facts for which he was sentenced to imprisonment for 1 year and two months.
For these reasons, the expulsion measure was once again adopted against him as a dangerous person, with direct accompaniment to the border.
The agents of the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters, after validation by the Justice of the Peace of Rimini, accompanied and escorted him to Tunisia, returning him to the hands of the Tunisian authorities.
