COUNTDOWN TO THE SIOD NATIONAL CONGRESS IN PALERMO: FOCUS ON INNOVATION, PREVENTION AND TRAINING – BlogSicilia

The countdown begins for the National Congress of the Italian Democratic Dentistry Union (SIOD), “New Horizons in Dentistry. Between Innovation and Sustainability of the Healthcare System.

What training for the future?”, an event that promises to redefine the dialogue on the future of dentistry in Italy and which will be held next 7 and 8 June at the Isola delle Femmine in Palermo.

This congress marks a new chapter of dialogue in the field of dentistry, exploring the intersections between dentistry and the prevention of systemic diseases and highlighting the critical importance of an integrated approach to health. With a theme that looks towards new horizons, the congress will focus on how to balance innovation and sustainability within the national healthcare system, highlighting the need for modern and targeted training for the future of the profession.

“We are grateful to the Sicilian Region for having granted patronage to the event – commented Dr. Francesco Romano, SIOD Deputy General Secretary – Sicily Region Contact -. Representatives of the major regional health policy institutions will be present to intervene, listen and interact with the world of dentistry in order to, I won’t say solve, but at least clarify to everyone what the emerging problems and critical steps of this branch of medicine are. Lately, due to its recognized role in the prevention of major pathologies (heart disease, diabetes, high-risk pregnancies, rheumatoid arthritis), – he continues – Dentistry has been highly valued from a scientific and research point of view at a global and European level . However, this importance has not been adequately valorised within the prevention and health policy plans of nations. SIOD wants to bring the spotlight to this issue.”

The two-day Isola delle Femmine will be an opportunity to shorten the distances between the “palace” and the world of the freelance profession, but also between citizens and health policy. All in the name of a new Dentistry, the one that has existed for decades, but which lacks doctor-witnesses and citizen-beneficiaries.

The Palermo event will be a crucial meeting point to share knowledge and develop common strategies for the future.”
