A carabiniere was injured by a robber who hit him on the head with the butt of his gun this morning Afragolain the province of Naples.
It all happened around 10 am, during a robbery of a bank branch: the soldier intervened, despite not being on duty, to defend a lady who was paying money into the bank when she was surprised by some criminals.
The policeman was hit from behindprobably with the butt of the gunby the robber’s accomplice who was carrying out the robbery against the lady. The robbers then left.
The soldier was treated in hospital Frattamaggiore where ten stitches were applied to his scalp. Immediately afterwards he was discharged. Investigations are underway.
