Torre del Greco – Theft at Circum station, safe taken away
Solidarity with the president of Eav on the part of mayor Mennella.
After a few days EAV suffers yet another crime: last night unknown persons entered the Torre del Greco station and removed the safe, causing extensive damage to the ticket office structure as well as the theft of approximately 3 thousand euros. The police were alerted and went to the scene to investigate the case.
“Continuing like this is really difficult, declares Umberto De Gregorio – President of the EAV, we realize that the investments made for the creation of video surveillance systems and patrols with security guards are not enough but the army would be needed to protection of stations and trains”.
“What happened at the Circumvesuviana central station and promptly reported by the Volturno Autonomous Body, is an act of serious gravity
; absolute, about which the Carabinieri have already been alerted, to whose work we rely in the hope of giving a face and a name to the authors of this ignoble criminal act”.
Speaking is Luigi Mennella, mayor of Torre del Greco, in whose city last night the theft of the safe located inside the ticket office took place at the Viale della Repubblica station, in which – according to what was reported by Eav – approximately 3,000 euros were contained, to which must be added the inevitable damage caused by unknown persons to the entire structure. “I immediately expressed full solidarity with President Umberto De Gregorio – continues the mayor – who promptly informed me of the incident. I invited De Gregorio not to give up, despite the first, inevitable words of understandable discomfort.”
