SITUATION 8 AM. A vortex over our central-northern regions will gradually move towards the Balkans during the day, fueling conditions of instability especially in the Centre-North. The disturbance that branches out from the depression center is already giving rise to heavy rains and thunderstorms. In the North the most significant phenomena concern the central-eastern areas of the Po Valley and this morning they are concentrating in Lombardy, after violent showers and thunderstorms and hail had already occurred yesterday evening. In the central regions, showers and thunderstorms are concentrated in Tuscany, Umbria and inland Marche, even strong and accompanied by hail, as is happening in Perugino, where rainfall accumulations have quickly reached 40mm. Part of the southern peninsula is also in the grip of instability, with rains and thunderstorms concentrated in Puglia, in particular in the Bari area.
WEATHER FOR THE NEXT HOURS. To the North scattered rain and showers across Lombardy, Triveneto and Emilia Romagna, including thunderstorms, especially near the Friulian mountains, but generally easing during the day with gradual clearing arriving, especially in the evening. Large clearings and drier weather in the Northwest, except for diurnal variability in the Western Alps with some brief showers. To the Center variability over the Tyrrhenian regions with some showers or thunderstorms in the morning in Tuscany, but easing during the day with clearings advancing from the coasts. Greater instability in the internal areas and on the Adriatic side with more frequent showers and thunderstorms in the morning between Umbria and internal Marche, but easing in the afternoon. To the South initial variability with some showers or thunderstorms in Puglia, easing in the afternoon and with even large sunny spells arriving. Mostly sunny in the remaining areas.
