Some people don’t like the reorganization of the road system in the marinas of Manduria, in the province of Taranto. And so there are numerous road signs prohibiting parking which have been torn down right near the access to the sea. The municipal administration, in concert with the Local Police, is preparing a new traffic plan for the seaside resorts of San Pietro in Bevagna and Torre Colimena. Therefore, the parking of vehicles on the sea side has been prohibited, in many cases establishing one-way traffic in many streets that were previously two-way. Evidently, some people don’t like this reorganization of the road system, so much so that, on the stretch of coast in the Borraco Marchese area, as many as 15 road signs prohibiting stopping which had just been installed by the municipal maintenance teams have been uprooted or demolished.

The raid

Evidently these are acts of vandalism by someone who does not like the fact of not being able to park wherever they like, even though it creates inconvenience and traffic jams in the summer traffic which reaches peak alert levels from June to September. After this episode, investigations began by the Local Police to try to trace the author or authors of the vandalism. As a result, the guard has been raised and further prevention and safety measures are already underway in various sensitive points of the Mandurian coast, both to improve traffic and to nip acts of vandalism and incivility in the bud, often linked to the refusal to respect of the rules by some. Meanwhile, regarding the new traffic plan, some variations have been made with the establishment of one-way streets, in order to create alternative routes valid during the evenings in which the ZTL is activated in the central areas of San Pietro in Bevagna.
Furthermore, on the entire coastal road from Borraco to Torre Colimena, a ban on parking on the sea side has been established, to avoid the narrowing of the road which creates traffic jams and also constitutes an obstacle to the transit of emergency vehicles, as has happened in the past. .

The rules

A series of rules to be respected also with regards to the use of free beaches which, however, it is always good to remember, are not exempt from respecting the beach ordinance and civil life.
In fact, if on the one hand tourism is invoked, on the other there are those who, in an unscrupulous manner, contrast it with attitudes that bring to mind scenes from the immediate post-war period with the setting up of tent cities on the beaches and improvised barbecues with the abandonment of waste and inevitable health and safety consequences.

Well, to combat this archaic way of acting, controls have already been in place since last year, including through the use of video surveillance. As regards the area of the Chidro river, the ban on access and bathing is confirmed, with sanctions for those who do not respect the union ordinance, and the respective prohibition signs. Unfortunately, even Nature Reserves are often subject to vandalism, as well as the abandonment of waste or other violations, so it was necessary to increase surveillance, with a greater presence of Civil Protection operators, in support of the Local Police and the Carabinieri Forestry, also activating a sufficient number of surveillance cameras.
