On June 4th, at 10.30 am, the municipal administration led by the mayor Federico Basile, during a ceremony in the presence of the Prefect of Messina Cosima Di Stani, and civil, religious and military authorities, and the national and regional Messina delegation , will proceed with the delivery of the new premises of the multifunctional Civil Protection Centre, located along viale Torrente S. Filippo, in the Pistunina area.
The Mayor Basile, the councilor for Civil Protection Massimiliano Minutoli and the general director of the Municipality Salvo Puccio will be present. Speakers will include, among others, representatives of the national and regional Department of Civil Protection; the municipal manager of the branch Antonio Cardia; the civil protection expert Antonio Rizzo; and Sabrina Palumbo coordinator of the municipal civil protection group.
The new structure, whose first works date back to 2014, and over the years in a state of abandonment, will be returned to the City, thanks to the start in 2018 with the De Luca administration of a recovery process for the structure and a change of destination for use from a social center to an operational center available to civil protection volunteers.

The Centre, which has now reached the finish line of official delivery with the Basile executive, will be home to all Civil Protection activities that concern citizens and included within the Municipal Emergency Plan
