Also in Latina this morning the official ceremony for the 78th anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic was held on the initiative of the Prefecture. The demonstration began at 9.30, in Piazza della Libertà with the deployment of the armed forces and the police forces to honor the Prefect which was followed by the flag raising ceremony and the reading of the message from the President of the Republic. Following this, Prefect Maurizio Falco presented the diplomas of the Honors of Merit of the Italian Republic, granted by the President of the Republic to twenty citizens of this province. Numerous mayors of the Pontine territory were present at the ceremony.
In his speech the Prefect underlined that he wanted to dedicate this celebration “to all those who daily keep the machine of the democratic state in the province running in various capacities and responsibilities. Once again, in that general container that we identify with the term security, yes needs are certainly linked to a more widespread control of the territory: and the daily work carried out with the men in uniform and their leaders so present and capable, are the best comfort. But just as many priorities – continued Falco – are referable, and not secondly, to the objective linked to a better use of services linked to essential public services and the usability of existing and to be completed infrastructures, both for mobility and multi-factorial reception: migration, seasonal support for agricultural companies , the path is to abandon the inertia of skills not in line with the requested acceleration in legality: and here the supervisory role of the workers’ unions – he concluded – continues to be fundamental both for the maintenance of jobs and for the defense of the dignity of workers”.
Once the award ceremony was concluded, the firefighters of the provincial command unfurled the tricolor flag in front of the authorities and the public present in the square where a static exhibition of military vehicles was also set up. The initiatives, carried out with the precious collaboration of bodies and institutions, are the result of a synergy between the Prefecture and the local reality, with the aim of giving the community the opportunity to celebrate the common national identity together, through the valorisation of the culture of the Republic.
