Saturday to forget for some residents of via Polito And via Theocritusin the neighborhood Zisa Of Palermo. In the area of the V District, more precisely within the Cultural Sites, a music festival took place yesterday (1 June) which attracted several artists from the international techno scene. An event in which hundreds of people passionate about this musical genre gathered, who were able to admire their favorite DJs, some of whom came to play in Palermo for the first time. The set went on from lunchtime until late evening. But if there were those on the dance floor who certainly had fun with the music, there were those who were decidedly less happy with the show. We are talking about the residents of the buildings in the area, many of whom did not like the high volume of the systems used to support the concert.

The testimony of a resident of via Polito

The speaker is a resident of via Polito. The man, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounts from his point of view the afternoon he experienced yesterday at Zisa. “I had to leave my house together with my family because of the noise – he says -. The noise was deafening and continuous. They started around lunchtime and continued until the evening. But who controls the unfolding of these events? – he asks himself -. Authorizing this type of demonstration with this drumming noise for 13 hours straight, in a residential area, is absurd.” The area of the Cantieri Culturali della Zisa is now permanently used for concerts and musical events of various types. Last year several artists from the Italian rap-trap scene performed, such as Geolier. This year, however, a concert by one of the queens of Italian pop is planned, namely Annalisa. But residents are asking for greater controls, thus reopening the case on the search for suitable spaces to host musical events. “We live here. Such noise only causes harm to citizens residing in this area“, concluded the resident of via Polito.
