An altruistic gesture unfortunately proved fatal for a 25-year-old young man from Formigine, in the Modena area. The boy was hit and killed by a passing car after stopping to help another motorist who had had an accident.
A a 25-year-old man was run over and killed from a passing car after stopping and being got out of his car to help another motorist who had been in a car accident. The tragedy occurred last night on the Modena-Sassuolo ring road, near the Baggiovara junction, in Modena. The fatal accident occurred around 2am between Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June along the road in the direction of Sassuolo.
The victim is a young man from Formigine, also in the Modena area, who was traveling alone. According to what has been reconstructed so far, the boy, in transit in his car, had noticed a dangerous person wrong road accident occurred shortly before his passage along the same road and had stopped to provide assistance. In fact, another motorist had hit a wild animal, apparently a porcupine, and to avoid it had swerved, ending up against the guardrail that separates the two carriageways.
Faced with the scene, the 25-year-old immediately stopped, pulled his car over to the side of the road and provided assistance. An act of altruism that unfortunately proved fatal. In fact, shortly afterwards the fatal accident occurred which cost him his life. The 25-year-old apparently was helping to clear the road of debris when another car arrived at that moment and hit him head-on.

At the wheel of the third car was a 34-year-old woman who did not notice his presence on the road in time. The driver, unharmed, then stopped and alerted the medical emergency services but unfortunately when the ambulance and the 118 medical vehicle arrived, for the 25-year-old there was already nothing left to do. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene. Mirandola traffic police officers were also at the site of the tragedy and carried out the necessary investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the road accident.
