Naples, 1 June 2024 – Silver Ribbons at “Call my agent – Italia” (second season, Sky) for Comedy, “Il Re” (second season, Sky) for Crime, “I Leoni di Sicilia” ( Disney+) among the Dramas, “Un Professore” (second season, Rai) among the Dramedy series and, once again based on a comedy by Eduardo De Filippo, “Napoli milionaria” (Rai) is the best TV film of the year for directed by Luca Miniero with Massimiliano Gallo and Vanessa Scalera.
Thus decided the vote of the Film Journalists who conclude this evening in Naples at the Teatro di Corte of Palazzo Reale the fourth edition of the Nastri d’Argento Grandi Serie in collaboration with the Campania Region Film Commission, with the support of the MiC – General Directorate of Cinema and Audiovisual . A great celebration for seriality which has changed the audience of networks and platforms in recent years and has made the new cinematographic format of traditional fiction international and increasingly loved by the public, transforming its storytelling into the hands of screenwriters who are increasingly attentive to recovery of great literature: many titles this year are born from literary successes and it is no coincidence that the Series of the year, chosen by the specialized press, is “La Storia” by Francesca Archibugi (Rai) from the novel by Elsa Morante. A collective award for the producers, Roberto Sessa for Picomedia and Maria Pia Ammirati director of Rai Fiction, and of course, with the director Francesca Archibugi, also for the screenwriters Giulia Calenda, Ilaria Macchia, Francesco Piccolo and Archibugi herself together with the cast: Jasmine Trinca, Elio Germano, Asia Argento, the young Lorenzo Zurzolo, Francesco Zenga and Valerio Mastandrea.
To the screenwriters, great protagonists of the revolution of seriality, special attention with the Campo Marzio “Penne d’Argento” Ribbon, an award that adds value to the “created by” which summarizes their decisive contribution to the birth and creative development of each project. And among the awards for journalists, in this edition the SIAE Silver Ribbon for the screenplay which rewards the authors of “Antonia” (Prime Video) Chiara Martegiani, Elisa Casseri and Carlotta Corradi. The series was born from an idea by Chiara Martegiani who is also the protagonist.
Three actresses and actors with the Special Tapes that the specialized journalists celebrated, with a choice of the National Board, the success of the “iconic” protagonists of the year much loved by the public: Sabrina Ferilli for “Gloria” (Rai), Alessandro Borghi and Adriano Giannini for “Supersex” (Netflix) and with them the director Gabriele Muccino, who self-ironically put himself on the line as an actor twice this year, with his irresistible performances in equally popular series such as “Call my agent – Italia” (Sky) and “Vita da Carlo” (Paramount+), both in their second season. Their performers won the most voted titles: Isabella Ragonese, protagonist of “Il Re” (Sky); Michele Riondino, in the role of the founder of the most exciting Sicilian dynasty, the saga of the Florio family, “The Lions of Sicily” (Disney+), based on the novel of the same name by Stefania Auci, which won in the Best Drama category, directed by Paolo Genoese, written by Ludovica Rampoldi and Stefano Sardo. Tapes also for actresses and supporting actors Linda Caridi for “Supersex” (Netflix) and Giovanni Ludeno who joins Luisa Ranieri in “The investigations of Lolita Lobosco” (Rai).
Silver Ribbons between music and cinema this year also for two very young revelations: Leo Gassmann for “Califano” and Letizia Toni for “Sei nell’anima”. The Guglielmo Biraghi Award, with which the film press highlights the talent of the youngest every year, went to Giacomo Giorgio: a very high-speed success (which also received an award from Italo) for four very popular titles, from Mare Fuori” and “Doc – In your hands” to “We are legend” and “For Elisa – The Claps case”. And precisely for “Per Elisa – Il caso Claps” (Rai) a Special Silver Ribbon goes to its director Marco Pontecorvo and the protagonist Gianmarco Saurino.
And there are quite a few series that have entered the list of awards this year for the value that a new narrative expresses on social issues, an attention declared in “The Fantastic 5” (Mediaset), Silver Ribbon Award – Claudio Nobis Foundation, produced by Luca Bernabei of Lux Vide, a Fremantle group company, with Daniele Cesarano, Head of Drama for RTI – Mediaset Group. A story born from an idea of Bernabei himself and Massimo Gramellini, starring Raoul Bova, empathetic coach of a Paralympic team. And again, the Ribbon of Legality – Series went to “Il Clandestino – An investigator in Milan” (Rai), starring Edoardo Leo, directed by Rolando Ravello, a Rai Fiction and Italian International Film co-production, produced by Fulvio and Paola Lucisano. “Il Clandestino” is a detective outside the traditional canons that renews a genre much frequented by serials with a significant sign of attention to social issues, even in the construction of stories that do not forget the world of the fragile in a big city. And Giusy Buscemi, protagonist of “Vanina – Un vice-chief in Catania”, directed by Davide Marengo, received the prize that the Ribbons award with Nuovo Imaie, given by a very popular protagonist, not only in Naples, for “Un posto al sun” like Patrizio Rispo. From Salvatore Clemensi Giusy Buscemi will also receive the traditional Wella Professionals Award for image, every year at the Nastri d’Argento.
Around sixty series were selected this year, titles that have opened up the traditional audience of fiction to the great authors of cinema, and 70 votes from Film Journalists for the best of a selection that took into consideration the titles of the season that were broadcast from 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2024.
The candidate series, also on the recommendation of SNGCI members, were chosen this year, like the special prizes, by the Board chaired by Laura Delli Colli and composed of Fulvia Caprara (vice president), Oscar Cosulich, Maurizio di Rienzo, Susanna Rotunno, Paolo Sommaruga and Stefania Ulivi. On the Board of Directors Romano Milani (general secretary) and Franco Mariotti (mayor).
