A choice that the club made after a few days of reflection and which was made official in recent days. The news deserved further investigation, so it is a must to hear his point of view from one of the protagonists of this story.
Massimo Venegoni he is currently a councilor of Fo.Co.L, in the past he also held the position of vice president, we asked him how this difficult decision was reached:
“After five days of hard work, trying to find a solution to be able to compete in the A2 championship won by the girls. There were three open questions: arena, corporate structure and financial resources. We were lacking on two issues and, paradoxically, the one that worried us least was the economic one given that our main sponsors, Maro, Loby’s and Emmeci, would have helped us cover the costs. higher costs. Finding a building was not impossible, while giving a new structure took time, the club was essentially the same as always, the one formed by a group of friends who brought Fo.Co.L from the C series to the A2, we had to insert new competent figures, doing so took time. At this point we have given ourselves a year to restart and try to win the championship again.”
How sorry were you to have to give up the A2?
“When we called the staff and athletes there was no shortage of tears from everyone, the team understood and thanked us, no controversy. Next week we will call all the athletes to have a chat with them, we will see who will stay and in any case we will integrate the team with young people in the wake of what we did with Gaia Moroni”
There will also be a new coach.
“Coach Daniele Turino will join Marcello Abbondanza’s staffcoach of Heungkuk Life Pink Spidersthe most successful team in the Korea of the South, with four national championships won. Via Turino we have three names in play, Davide Delmati, Igor Galimberti and Luciano Pedullà, in the next few days we will finalize with one of them”.

“Hall: although the municipality has congratulated and made it available, I don’t think it will be possible to build a structure in one year, we heard from UYBA that they were willing to leave the hall to us when they played away, the same goes for the PalaBorsani, we also tried in Gerenzano, we didn’t want to make a hasty choice, now we have time to look for agreements to find a suitable solution. As regards the new roles, Giulia Pisani will hold the position of sporting director of the youth sector, we will introduce a new figure of team manager, a sporting director for the first team as well as a series of managers on various fronts”.
What will happen now?
“Negotiations are underway to exchange titles with B1 teams that want to make the A2, we hope to close in less than a week. In closing, allow me to offer a corporate thank you to the entire team and staff, it was a wonderful season, I hope to repeat it in a very short time.”
