On the morning of May 25th, the State Police carried out the precautionary measure ofmoving away from the family home with prohibition on approach and communication, and installation of electronic bracelettowards a 52 year old Italian citizen, resident in the city of Monza, under investigation for the crime of mistreatment of family members and cohabitants.

The harassment would have continued for several years, from 2020 to April 2024, when the wife decided to report. The peak of the escalation of violence during the pandemic and when, in 2023, the man lost his job. Staying at home, he would often abused alcohol, becoming violent and finding any excuse to argue for trivial reasons.

In April 2024, the now exhausted wife decided to report the harassment, insults, denigrations and serious death threats, including with a machete 26 cm long, suffered directly and sometimes also addressed to the adult daughter and assisted by the minor son.I’ll cut you to pieces with the machete”, “Dead of hunger”, “Disgusting woman, ugly bastard of shit”, were followed by violent actions: squeezing them hands at her throat, hitting her repeatedly with fists, with blunt objects, slamming the phone in her face. In the various circumstances in which the woman was allegedly subjected to physical attacks, out of fear she never requested the intervention of the police nor went to hospital. Only when, one evening in April 2024, after yet another argument, the man would have threatened with a knife together with her daughter saying he would kill them if the woman didn’t leave. On another occasion, the woman, returning home, found the doors full of spit, as well as photos of her and her children, thrown to the ground and covered in spit, broken frames, drunk and broken beer bottles on the floor.

Following the complaint presented by the woman, the Monza Public Prosecutor’s Office activated the “Code Red”, delegating further investigations to the State Police operators of the Flying Squad of the Monza and Brianza Police Headquarters.

The investigative activity carried out by State Police agents, coordinated by the Monza Public Prosecutor’s Office, made it possible to shed full light on the events within the family unit and, in consideration of what emerged, the Monza Public Prosecutor’s Office requested and obtained from the GIP of the Court of Monza the application of the precautionary measure ofremoval from the family home and ban on approaching and communicating with the offended people towards man, with installing the electronic bracelet.

In the early hours of the morning of 25 May 2024, the agents of the State Police of the Monza Flying Squad implemented the precautionary measure issued against the man, removing him from the family home.
