Last May 30th theannual meeting of the Umbria Foundation for the Prevention of Wearin which the final balance sheet 2023 and the budget forecast 2024. During the meeting, i Founding members hey Meritorious Supporters they discussed both the objectives achieved and the future vision of the Foundation, which recently acquired it status as a Third Sector Institution. A solid economic situation was highlighted with a positive balance, continuing the trend of recent years. The 2023 budget presents a significant surplus of 288,000 euroswhich, according to the Region’s indications, must be used by 2024 for institutional or directly related activities.

New memberships and financial management

During 2023, the Foundation saw an increase in membership requests from Municipalities of Campello sul Clitunno, Narni and Assisi. This increase, together with the support of the Region and virtuous financial management, has made it possible to have greater resources available for initiatives in favor of users. A fundamental aspect was also the improvement of communication to make the services offered known to the population. Furthermore, a new internal regulation based on principles of transparency, speed and efficiency, to guarantee patients clear guidance on the assistance available and the procedures to follow.

Completed projects and new initiatives

The president of the Foundation, Fausto Cardella, recalled the numerous interventions that have economically supported hundreds of Umbrian families. Among these, the project “Dear-Life“, created in collaboration with the Umbria region and financed with 123,000 euros coming from extraordinary contributions from the Region, donations from Consultation of the Savings Bank Foundations of Umbriaof theInner Wheel of Perugia and of the Foundation itself. A similar project called “House Plan“.

Support for over-indebtedness and banking agreements

The Foundation launched the project “Over-indebtedness protection“, which provides for the provision of a non-repayable contribution up to 5,000 euros to cover the initial costs of the over-indebtedness procedure, which are often unaffordable for those in difficulty. Also relevant are banking agreements renewed with the Cooperative Credit Bank of Spello and Velinothe Cooperative Credit Bank of Spello and Bettonaand the new stipulation with Banca Intesa San Paolo SpA Further agreements with are being evaluated Unicredit And Desio Bank.

Memoranda of understanding and collaborations

The work of building new agreements and collaborations was important. Among the main ones, the Memorandum of understanding with the “Umbria” Carabinieri Legion Command for a collaboration in the fight against usury and that with the Municipality of PerugiaL’Order of Chartered Accountants of the Province of Perugia and theNational Union of Consumers of Umbria to develop projects Financial Education and Savings Protection in middle and high schools. Furthermore, the 2024-2026 protocol with Rai aims to create a network of actors committed to combating the phenomenon of usury.

Health agreements and further collaborations
