Taranto: The Le Corde che Suonano concerts are back

Next June 5th in the ancient cloister of MUDI, in the heart of the old city of Taranto (9pm), the LE CORDE CHE SUONANO series returns, part of the 80th concert season of the Friends of Music Archangel Hope of Taranto. An eagerly awaited return after the success achieved last year, which establishes the high quality standard of the 2023/2024 programming organized by the Ionian association under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Taranto.

Four concerts are scheduled: the June 5th will open the review on SANTÓRSOLA QUARTET which will feature the guitarists ANTONIO RUGOLO, ANGELO GILLO, VINCENZO ZECCA and LIVIO GRASSO with a program of music by John W. Duarte (Concerto Democratico Op. 108; Sonatina di Primavera Op. 27; Americana Op. 96) and, world premierethe song Cartoons (dedicated to the Santórsola Quartet) and composed by Giancarlo SANDUZZI.


L’June 11th it will be the duo’s turn MAKEUP & MAKEUP, formed in 2014, with FABIO RENDA and BENIAMINO TRUCCO on guitars, who will perform music by Alvaro Company, Domenico Scarlatti transcribed. Alexandre Lagoya, Napoléon Coste, Azio Corghi, Astor Piazzolla and Rossini. And again the June 14th they arrive MAJORCHORDA who present the project LE VILLANELLE NAPOLETANE which sees the participation of CLAUDIO DE VITTORIO, BRUNO GALEONE, STEFANO DE DOMINICIS, DARIA FALCO, GIANNI GELAO and SAMUEL MELE. A concert that contains songs and melodies from other times that are still current, which allow these sounds to be made into a riot of harmonies, pleasantly engaging in rhythm and tremendously catchy.

 

To close the review June 26th it will be the bewitching sound of the harp played by DAVIDE BURANI, whose concert activity has led him to perform in Italy and abroad, collaborating with well-known artists. The program includes music by Giuseppe Verdi (prelude from La Traviata), Michele Albano, Charles Oberthur, John Thomas, Giovanni Caramiello, Domenico Sodero and Davide Burani himself.

For THE STRINGS THAT SOUND, the Friends of Music of Taranto have provided a ticket for each concert costing €15.00 (single seat), as well as a mini-subscription of €40.00.
