A week discovering the Monumental Cemetery of Turin

AFC, a subsidiary company whose sole shareholder is the Municipality which manages the six cemeteries of the City, is part of ASCE, the Association of European Historic Cemeteries, which every year organizes a week to discover the cemeteries with various initiatives, some with free entry, others with paid guided tours.

Three free events. It starts on Saturday 1 June with two guided walks at the Monumentale, followed by the appointment on Friday 7 June at the Pinacoteca Albertina, with the presentation of the video on the tragic bombing of Turin on 13 July 1943, created by the students of the Albertina Academy, the collective “Trinity visual & design” (poster attachment 2 with the photo of the devastated cemetery) and ends with the meeting on Saturday 8 June at the Monumentale, with the writer Margherita Oggero at the Campo della Gloria where over a thousand partisans are buried.

WEEK DISCOVERING HISTORICAL CEMETERIES: NUMEROUS INITIATIVES AT THE MONUMENTAL.

This year too, the European Historic Cemeteries Association, of which Turin is part, is dedicating a week to discovering the treasures hidden in our cities. At the Monumentale until Saturday 8 June, numerous initiatives are scheduled organized by AFC Torino Spa (a subsidiary company with the Municipality that manages the cemeteries as the sole shareholder) in network with other cultural entities such as Open House and Archivissima. The two guided visits to the Monumentale on Saturday 1 June at 2.30pm and 4.30pm, which include a tour of the architectural, historical and artistic works, are free but require reservation at Open House (https://www.openhousetorino.it /buildings/monumental-cemetery/).
