Over 5 thousand people in the stands of the E-work Arena in Busto Arsizio, and almost another 3 thousand outside the arena, to acclaim the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama yesterday, who came to celebrate the Albanian diaspora on a stage of a European tour dedicated to promoting culture Albanian and investments in the land of L’Aquila.

“We needed the San Siro stadium”, reveals on stage the organizer of the event, Ylli Ujka, an entrepreneur who came to seek his fortune and landed with ships in ’91 in Puglia, who today lives in Gallarate (Varese).

After his entry, Prime Minister Edi Rama makes a motivational “speech” based on national pride. Not without remembering the prejudices that his migrant people had to suffer in Italy. “It was an Albanian” he repeats several times, in Italian, to remind us how his compatriots have often been targeted by racism, even in the media: Rama also mentions the figure of Umberto Bossi, who “with that vest seemed like he came out of the movies comedians” and that “he came to Albania to buy his son’s degree”.

But then he also underlines how the Italian governments have “taken care of Albania like no other” and Rama refers to the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, “our friend”, while thinking about the prospect of joining the European Union he uses very clear words : the objective is “to ensure that Europe finally begins to understand that it must first be reunified through the bridges of democracy, and not expand at a turtle’s pace through the channels of bureaucracy”.
