In the Aula Magna of the “Carlo Amore” comprehensive institute of Frigintini, the book collecting the proceedings of the conference held on 17 December 2022 on the occasion of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the annexation of the Frigintini territory to the Municipality of Modica was presented. separating the hamlet from the territory of Noto.
The event served to retrace the salient stages of an important piece of Modica’s history, as well as enhancing the identity of Frigintini and its community. The work aimed at enhancing the importance of the annexation of the hamlet to the Municipality of Modica, thanks to the fundamental role that the trade unionist Giovanni Rando had at the time of the popular petition, is the fruit of the work carried out with passion and commitment, including economic commitment, by Salvatore Cannata, Giorgio Giurdanella, Giuseppe Macauda, ​​Carmelo Modica, Francesco and Salvatore Rando.
The introduction to the conference was by professor Giuseppe Macauda. The participants listened with great attention to the reports of the Headmaster Giulia D’Urso, of Doctor Giorgio Giurdanella, of Professor Francesco Rando, enriched by musical interludes by the children who attend the musical courses of the school.
The evening opened with greetings from the municipal councilor Rosario Viola who underlined the importance of preserving and passing on the memory of a political decision resulting from the commitment of the representatives of the territory who should always be an example to the generations of new politicians.
