The Azzurri win the bronze medal against Uzbekistan and are among the favorites for Paris

L’Italy wins bronze at the Judo World Championships in the mixed team competition againstUzbekistan. The Pistoia native is also in the Italian team Nicholas Mungai (+90 kg), as well as Thauany David Capanni Dias (-57 kg), Irene Pedrotti, Kim Polling (-70kg), Giovanni Esposito, Manuel Parlati (-73 kg), Asya Tavano, Erica Simonetti (+70kg), Christian Parlati, Lorenzo Rigano (-90 kg) e Gennaro Pirelli. The Azzurri achieved bronze on the tatami of the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, in United Arab Emiratesgiving our country the first world championship medal in its history in this format.

The Azzurri began their journey to the round of 16 in which, trailing 3-1, they defeated theHolland in the decisive match (4-3). In the quarterfinals, therefore, the dream of gold was interrupted against the France, clearly won 4-1. In the following repechage match, however, a great group response immediately arrived thanks to the resounding 4-0 given to Hungary, a prelude to the subsequent bronze medal match, in which Italy defeated 4-2Uzbekistan.
