Below is the program:

Exhibition of works 29 May from 5pm

The students’ works will be exhibited at the Food Policy Hub, cloister of San Francesco, on Thursday 29 May starting from 5.00 pm and the students’ parents will be able to view them until the premises close at approximately 8.00 pm.

Awards ceremony for the best entries May 30th at 10.00am

Furthermore, given the high number of participants, we invite a school representation made up of part of the participating students for each school accompanied by the relevant teachers, on Thursday morning at 10.00 am at the Food Policy Hub to participate in the awards ceremony.

Our goal is to change the habits of parents who take their children to school by car – observes the president Antonio Leonetti. I was able to visit some classes, gladly accepting the invitation of some teachers, it was nice to tell the students how much I had reached their school on foot.

But I was very sad to hear from many of them that parents mainly accompany their children by car. Yet, in our city there are few rainy days, we have sun 300 days a year and, above all, in spring with these temperatures the walk is very conciliatory – adds Antonio Leonetti.

Children are not to blame, it is adults who educate them according to their needs. Traveling by car has become so customary for these adult parents that it blinds them to the mobility problem that is so evident in our city. Furthermore, for me, who have been forced to travel in a wheelchair since birth due to a physical malformation, I experience these situations as if in a jungle, without rules and with little democracy in the spaces. – points out Gianmarco Fascianoactivist member of Urban Mobility.

It is important to be prepared for mobility because it directly impacts the quality of our days and life in the city context. A clean, non-polluted and non-noisy street makes us happier and calmer. And I, being a grandfather, would like to see my granddaughters one day live our Andria without the anxiety of having to dodge some cars while crossing pedestrian crossings – he concludes Mimmo Zingaro.
