possible incentives for those who leave – Cronaca Flegrea

POZZUOLI«Today I wanted to meet the mayors and the vice president of the Campania Region, together with the prefect of Naples and the heads of the Civil Protection and Casa Italia departments, to illustrate the plan of further measures that are being examined by the Meloni government on the Campi Flegrei, already anticipated in the press conference I held last Wednesday. Summary: faster and more in-depth checks of the levels of vulnerability of public and private real estate falling within the restricted area of bradyseism; anti-seismic strengthening interventions of strategic public infrastructures, starting with schools; contributions for the anti-seismic adaptation of private homes in high risk areas, excluding illegal buildings and second homes”. This was announced by the Minister for Civil Protection Nello Musumeci after the meeting held today at Palazzo Chigi with the mayors of Naples, Pozzuoli and Bacoli and the vice-president of the Campania Region.

PREVENTION – The meeting also addressed the topic of intensifying non-structural prevention, with information and exercises involving as many inhabitants and possible financial incentives for families who intend to relocate from high-risk areas to areas outside the bradyseismic risk perimeter and volcanic. Finally, a ban on the construction of new housing units until the Campania Region has legislated on the matter. These interventions, Musumeci underlines, «they follow those already envisaged by the law decree on the Campi Flegrei approved in October last year and in the implementation phase. In the next few days, having verified the necessary overall financial resource and for the first interventions, I will bring the proposals to the Council of Ministers for examination”.
