PERUGIA – Center square for dealing and drugs in drive-in mode: new blow to crime in Perugia, with a gang of drug dealers based in Corso Garibaldi crushed by the police. Who removed cocaine from the market intended for students and professionals, considering the area of the latest operation of the Operational Section of the Perugia Company, right in one of the hearts of the acropolis.

It is there, a stone’s throw from the University for Foreigners and the Etruscan Arch, in the university area at the foot of the Tempietto, that the Carabinieri arrested a 38-year-old with a criminal record and two unsuspecting 24-year-olds, both with no criminal record, for detention for the purposes of drug dealing. All of Albanian origin but domiciled in the city, whom the military arrived during an inspection: in Via Garibaldi they noticed a man who, suspiciously, took something out of his trousers and quickly passed it to another, who puts it in his pocket before speeding away in a car. Just like in a drive in. All too suspicious not to stop both of them. Finding in the possession of the man driving the car 33 heat-sealed wrappers containing a total of 29 grams of cocaine, a cell phone and 825 euros in cash, probably believed to be the proceeds of the illicit activity.
At that point the searches were extended to the homes of both: inside the home of the alleged drug dealer, a third compatriot was identified and another 11 wrappers were found containing a further 25 grams of drugs, a precision scale, a mobile phone and 120 euros. The carabinieri therefore managed to remove from the square over one hundred doses of cocaine (considering the requests for “quartini”) with a value of over 2,000 euros on the market, in one of the most characteristic areas of the acropolis already ready to light up for the summer season. As for the three arrested, meanwhile, they were taken first to the barracks and then to the Capanne prison. The judge for the preliminary investigations who confirmed the provision, then ordered a ban on residence in Umbria for everyone, underlining – as the Carabinieri explain in a note from the Provincial Command – «a serious and solid set of circumstantial evidence against the first two subjects, both for the methods of concealment and packaging of the narcotic and for the quantity found.
TRASIMENO HASHISH

But the drug alarm from the center of the capital ends up exploding in the province too, with the Carabinieri of the Magione station who in recent days checked a 32-year-old resident of Castiglione del Lago aboard his car in San Feliciano, on the banks of Trasimeno. The man, with a criminal record, was found in possession of three blocks of hashish weighing a total of three ounces, plus another 30 grams of drugs, all hidden on him. Still in the car, evidently transformed into a street drug market in the Trasimeno area, the carabinieri found a precision electronic scale, a knife soaked in hashish and a telephone, all of which were seized. Taken to the police station, the 32-year-old was arrested red-handed for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs. Placed under house arrest, he underwent a very direct ritual, with the judge validating the arrest and ordering him to have a daily obligation to report to the judicial police. A further blow to drug dealing in the Perugian area, with dealing affecting various areas of the province and the attention now, given the arrival of the summer, also shifting to the “summer” areas.
