Lavis. Pallamano Pressano BTS closes the score with salvation and wins the permanence in Serie A Gold. Branko Dumnic’s yellow and blacks also defeated Pallamano Trieste in Game 2 at the Palavis, closing the series at 2-0. Enough to secure salvation and think about next year still in the top flight, the fifteenth in a row. The yellow and black club breathes a sigh of relief, or rather a cry of relief in front of a Palavis packed in every order of place to chase a fundamental victory.

In difficulty throughout the season, the yellow and blacks managed to get back on top in the second half of the championship, achieving salvation in the first round of the PlayOut.

The match

One took place at the Palavis battle real, with Trieste giving the Trentino team a hard time: much more energetic and determined than Game 1 in Trieste, Radojkovic’s Giulians held their own against Pressano until the end, giving Palavis a tense challenge, nervous and full of reversals of attitude. In the end the home team prevailed 28-26 amidst the jubilation of the yellow and black fans.

At the start of the match the two teams start contracted and the errors multiply: Trieste puts its nose forward but Pressano holds its own. From 5-4 in the 7th minute the score didn’t move for 8 very long minutes made up of saves and errors in attack; the first yellow and black push is 7-5 with Hamouda, then Trieste turns everything around and scores 8-9. Pressano is opaque, unable to give continuity to his game and struggles, also conceding 11-13 with Trieste wasting two balls of a possible +3, still ending the first half of the game ahead at 13-14.

Pressano knows he has what it takes to control the match and tries to react: a wild man Fraj he doesn’t forgive and brings the yellow and blacks back ahead at 19-16 but right at the best moment Trieste reacts and goes back down, 19-19. The game is underway nervous and it lasts: the hosts come out better thanks to the saves of Loizos and due to their patience in attack they score a heavy break which is worth 24-20.

It’s the decisive break 10 minutes from time; from here, in fact, Pressano will never give up the advantage again. Fragmented and pyrotechnic match but the yellow and blacks remain ahead and there are two bombs Hamouda, the championship’s top scorer, to put the seal on the match. Pressano makes it 27-23 with 4′ to go, then manages Trieste’s return which doesn’t go beyond -2 and is forced to surrender at the second siren, when Hamouda again closes the score and the championship at 28-26.

A liberating cry for the Trentino team who, after suffering for months and fighting with determination, managed to achieve their goal, guaranteeing their stay in Serie A Gold for next season.

The relegation issue will now be a matter between Trieste, Cingoli and Rubiera who in the coming weeks will play to avoid the last relegation to Serie A Silver. Pressano, on the other hand, will immediately start working to set up next year’s team.
