The new CT diagnostic machine purchased by the South East Tuscany Local Health Authority with Pnrr funds is active at the San Donato hospital in Arezzo to guarantee users cutting-edge and latest generation equipment. The machinery is supplied to the complex Radiology operational unit and after the functional testing works it entered into operation, replacing the previous one.

The machine, compared to previous models, has an advanced speed that reduces exposure times and a lower impact of ionizing radiation and is supported by artificial intelligence to produce very high resolution images.

“About 28/30 CT diagnostic procedures are carried out every day – underlines Dr. Duccio Venezia, director of the Radiology UOC – it is therefore of great importance to be able to guarantee performance with cutting-edge machinery that allows timely and increasingly accurate diagnoses”.

The investment for the purchase of the machine was approximately 490 thousand euros and the room where it is installed was completely renovated. Work will also start shortly for the replacement of the second CT scan.

“With the CT machine supplied to the emergency room since 2019, the installation of the new CT scan which took place in recent days and the arrival of another machine which will take place by the summer – explains Dr. Barbara Innocenti, Director of the “hospital – San Donato guarantees users diagnostics with increasingly high performance”.
