Velletri, Velester Folk returns with the Festival of Popular Instruments and Traditions in homage to Franco Crescenzi (25 – 26 May)

On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May, at the CREA – Viticulture Enology of Velletri, in the suggestive former Experimental Cellar, the long-awaited Festival of Popular Instruments and Traditions will be held. The event, organized by Velester Folk Group with the patronage of Municipality of Velletri, it will be a two-day event dedicated to the memory of Franco Crescenzi, a leading figure in the promotion and preservation of local musical traditions.

The event, this year in its second edition, was born in memory of one of the founders of the Velester Folk group, Franco Crescenzi, passed away prematurely at the age of 60 two years ago. A festival that brings together the passions and origins of this folk group with an exhibition of the instruments, arts and popular traditions in which the group has taken part over the years.

Franco Crescenzi, known for his immense contribution to the musical culture of the area, will be celebrated through a series of activities that will highlight the richness of traditional instruments and popular music. His legacy, of inestimable value, continues to live on thanks to events like this that perpetuate his memory.

During the festival, participants will be able to immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere of the former Experimental Cellar and be enveloped by the sounds and melodies that represent the soul of the local culture. There will be numerous activities, including entertainment and animations for children, parades, food stands with local products, tastings, artists and artisans, guided tours, presentations and illustrations.
