Salerno Artists Center: twinning Salerno – Plovdiv

As part of the cultural activity of the Centro Artisti Salernitani, president Elena Ostrica, the twinning between Salerno and Plovdid, a city in Bulgaria, nicknamed Pompeii of the East because it is rich in archaeological monuments, was launched.

On May 25th at the “Ivan Vazov” National Library of the city, the representatives of the Campania delegation will be presented at the inaugural event.

For painting: Laura Bruno, Concetta Carleo, Nera D’Auto, Giorgio Della Monica, Leonardo Guarino, Elena Ostrica, Maria Rosaria Verrone

For ceramics: Silvana Valese

For poetry: (also translated into Bulgarian): Laura Bruno, Violeta Dulcheva, Elena Ostrica, Vittorio Pesca

For Music: Giuseppina Gallozzi (Solo piano recital)

The intent of the twinning is not simply the dissemination of the works, but above all the desire to get to know new cultural panoramas in order to compare each other, in a multifaceted relationship in artistic and expressive styles. The desire is to appreciate each other’s differences and look for commonalities. The hope is to continue to host events with Bulgarian culture in the future and continue to export the sensitivity of Southern Italy to Eastern countries.

The inauguration will be able to put the spotlight on the artistic works and poems and will culminate with the concert in the hall of the National Library. Culture does not raise barriers, but creates bridges of friendship and peace.
