Coach Jamie Christian presents Race 3 Playoff semi-final, scheduled Friday May 24th at 8.30pmwhich will see the red and whites host the Basketball Forlì 2.015 and return to PalaTrieste ahead 2 to 0 in the series. Below are his statements.

Coach, as with Turin, the field factor has been reversed in this playoff semi-final and tomorrow there is the possibility of closing the series. What should you pay attention to most?

“Forlì is a great team. They dominated during the season and have the best coach in the league, they do an exceptional job with a roster of very proud professionals. What we expect is that a team like Forlì comes here and plays to the best of its ability. We expect a proud team that has no intention of giving up, we are preparing to be ready to give our best.”

After the two races in Forlì, are there still some things that need to be corrected?

“We just have to keep improving. I was disappointed by some defensive situations on their actions. They did an exceptional job after time outs and free throws against us, creating easy baskets. They did a really good job using Zampini. But in these playoffs, the team that has the best chance of getting through will be the one capable of continuing to learn, to improve, and we have many things we can still work on. Our goal wasn’t to win game 1 or game 2, it was to make the necessary adjustments to play our basketball, to beat a very solid team.”

Even on a mental level, they were two challenging races. How are the kids?

“I coach a great group of kids who are focused on the task at hand. They recognize that our mindset from day one is all about being focused on what’s most important today. They’ve done an exceptional job of continuing that mentality, and we need to continue to do so. That’s an important thing about our way of thinking: no matter what happened in the previous game, you have to be able to reset because things can change quickly. They did a great job staying focused, putting in a lot of effort in the last few days of training, incredible concentration. We are all contributing to the future that awaits us. Tomorrow the kids will be welcomed by an enthusiastic PalaTrieste.”

To welcome the Biancorossi tomorrow there will be a PalaTrieste fired up by the two away victories. Does he want to leave a message to our fans?

“For our fans: “we fight as one”, we are all fighting together as one team. I think everyone is rowing in the same direction now and everyone recognizes what time of year we are in. We ask our fans to be here to support us all together. I know they will, and we are grateful to them because they have always been with us on this journey we are all on together.”

Note – Nothing to report.

Average – Live streaming on LNP Pass.

Here Forlì

Antimo Martino (coach) – “The level of the series requires us to increase the level of physicality and attention even further within the 40 minutes, especially from a defensive point of view. The evident increase in rebounding performance in game 2 is certainly a positive aspect, but not yet sufficient. Offensively it’s clear that we need different percentages. We know our backs are against the wall and for this reason it’s time to put everything we have on the field.”

Note – With their backs against the wall, Unieuro Forlì is called to win on the battleship Trieste’s pitch to extend the series that sees the Julian team ahead 2-0, after eliminating Torino in 3 games in the quarter-finals. Trieste has 5 wins out of 5 games played in the post season. Absent Kadeem Allen, season over for him.

Average – The match will be streamed with subscription on LNP Pass HERE. The media partner Teleromagna will instead offer the delayed match 3 Trieste-Forlì on Saturday 25 May at 10.30pm on channel 78 of TR Sport. During the match, updates will be available on the social channels of Pallacanestro Forlì 2.015 and on the new WhatsApp channel and real-time quarterfinal updates will also be communicated via push notifications in the App.
