Rome, 23 May 2024 – As part of the legislative provision adopted during the session of the Regional Council, the Chamber approved an amendment, presented by the Councilor for Budget and Agriculture, Giancarlo Righini, which allocates 450 thousand euros to combat coastal erosion and the redevelopment of the stretch of Lazio coastline, in particular in the municipalities of Pomezia and Fiumicino.

“This is an important intervention aimed at safeguarding a coastal area often affected by flooding caused by rising sea levels – explains Righini – It is our intention to start the nourishment work on the beaches as soon as possible to make them usable in view of the season summer. Furthermore, the resources allocated will also be used for the redevelopment and safety of the coast. Moreover, prevention remains the only way to protect the territory, and this also and above all applies to the southern coast of the region“.
