The perfect SUV from Renault

The Boulogne-Billancourt brand has decided to expand the range of the Rafale model, introducing a plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive version. It is a 4X4 vehicle made up of an innovative hybrid powertrain, capable of releasing 300 horsepower. At the rear of the vehicle there is also a second electric motor, whose task is to increase the power of the engine and transmit it to the all-wheel drive system. The French designers, to create the Rafale E-Tech 4×4 version, simply updated the previous 200 horsepower hybrid engine. To boost it, they added a second electric motor and a new 22 kWh battery, which allows it to travel up to 100 kilometers with zero emissions.

The hybrid system of the Rafale E-Tech therefore consists of a 3-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine. Inside you can also find a powerful turbocharger, which increases power to 150 horsepower. Everything is combined with three other electric engines, which they increase the performance of the vehicle at very high levels. In particular, there is a 70 horsepower electric motor in the front axle, another 136 horsepower engine in the rear and a third 34 horsepower HSG engine. The latter essentially serves to start the combustion engine, operate the gearbox and recharge the battery.

As for the equipment, Renault also offers an Atelier Alpine variant, whose task is to further enhance the know-how of the French brand. In other words, customers will have the opportunity to purchase a car with a chassis optimized by Alpine engineers. There will therefore be electronically controlled active shock absorbers, front and rear stabilizer bars and 21-inch wheels. The list price of the Rafale model starts from 22,500 euros and rises depending on the versions.
