This Saturday at 3pm the 49th edition of the Passatore 100km will start. He is undoubtedly the absolute legend of this race with 12 consecutive victories Giorgio Calcaterra, the latter however will not race this year but will be in the new role of race director. READ HERE

Among the contenders we will see the winner of the 2019 edition of the Florence-Faenza (as well as the special edition Italian 100 km road championship ’21) Marco Menegardi and the Veronese Massimo Giacopuzzi (2nd at the ‘Passatore’ 2022, winner of the 6 hours of Azzano San Paolo ’23 and the 100 km of Asolo ’23, 3rd in Imola in the special edition of the Italian 100 km Championship).

Among the top Tuscan competitors we find Enrico Bartolini (19 Florence-Faenza contested, in the top 20 on several occasions), Stefano Sestaioni and the Japanese Sohn Majidae, a Florentine citizen for over 25 years (first in the 6 hours of Foiano in Arezzo -65 km – ’23 and several participations in the ‘Cento’).

In the Faenza area we find Gabriele Turroni (2nd at the RUN Winschoten 100 km ’23, 6th at the special edition of the Italian 100 km road championship and 2nd at the last two editions of the 50 km of the Conero), Christian Reali (7th at the “Cento” 2022), Luigi Pecora (4 consecutive Cento from 2016 to 2019, 1st at the 6 hours de Conti ’23, 1st at the BI-Ultra 12h ’22 as well as specialist in 6 hours races) and Massimo Ciani (3rd at the CrisMans Trail and consecutive 5 Cento from 2015 to 2019).

Among foreign athletes the most popular are the Cape Verdeans Oliveira Jailson Manuel Duarte, Joao Lopes Fonseca and Gil Nelson Dias Fortesthe Moroccan El Fadil Soufyane, the Finnish Yli-Marttila Juhani and the Dutch Bob Hoogendoorn.

In women’s field among the favorites we find Federica Moroni (in ’19 second among women at the ‘Passatore’ and first Italian. In 2024 at 51 years old she sets a new Italian female record on the 100 km of the Conero in 7h27’50”), Silvia Luna (2nd overall at Slo6run ’24), Maria Rosa Costa and Denise Zacco.
