Cisl Molise remembers the Capaci massacre

TERMOLI. «Remember the Capaci massacre», underlines Antonio D’Alessandro for CISL Molise.

«Today, 32 years after the Capaci massacre, we stop to honor the memory of Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the three brave policemen of the escort, Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinaro, who lost their lives in that tragic day. Their dedication to justice and service to the state remains a beacon of integrity and courage that continues to guide us.

As a representative of CISL Molise, I express my profound respect for the sacrifice of these heroes and renew our organization’s commitment to the fight against crime and to the promotion of a society founded on the principles of legality and solidarity.

The Capaci massacre is not only a black page in our history, but also a perennial warning to never lower our guard in the face of threats to our democracy. We remember today more than ever that freedom and justice are values that require constant commitment and sacrifice from all of us.

I conclude with a thought for the families of the victims, to whom we extend all our closeness and support. Their loss was immense, but will never be forgotten. The legacy left by Giovanni Falcone and the other martyrs of Capaci will continue to live on in the actions of all those who believe in a just Italy free from the yoke of the mafia.”
