An evening of emotions, yesterday at the city palace: the prefect Isabella Fusiello received the honorary citizenship of Andria surrounded by the affection of relatives, friends and numerous institutions, with representatives of all the forces of law and order.

An all-female stage, the one that Dr. Fusiello dedicated to celebrating her career and affection for her city of origin, sitting next to the first citizen and the new prefect of the Bat Silvana D’Agostino: today Prefect of Macerata , Fusiello worked for a long time in Bologna, until becoming Police Commissioner on 25 October 2021.

She is the first woman from Andria to reach this level in her career at the Ministry of the Interior.
Andriese, 64 years old, after graduating in Law from the University of Bari, entered the police force in 1985 as deputy commissioner and at the end of the training course was directed to the Caips School of Abbasanta, in Sardinia, and then move to the Nuoro Police Headquarters (Anti-Crime Division – Prevention Measures section, then manager of the Administrative and Social Police Division).

At the Bologna Police Headquarters in the summer of 1989, with the role of manager of the Immigration Office, until 2002. She then moved on to direct the Foreigners Division at the Department of Public Security in the capital. You follow the direction of the Imola Police Station and, subsequently, the “Foreigners at the Central Directorate of Immigration and Borders of the PS Department” Division. She was also director of Polaria al Marconi. You were appointed deputy police commissioner of Ferrara in 2009, after having attended the Higher Training Course for the Police Forces, in 2012 you were appointed police chief of Cuneo. You therefore headed the Reggio Emilia police station from 2014 to 2017 and that of Trieste. In 2019 she returned to Rome, to the Ministry of the Interior, to the secretariat of the Department of Public Security, she then followed the direction of the Police Headquarters of Potenza and Padua. In recent years you have also been appointed by the director general of Public Security, Dr. Franco Gabrielli, to follow the works that led to the creation of the Police Headquarters in via Indipendenza. In 2021, we were saying, she was appointed Police Commissioner in the city of the two Towers, the city where she served during her career in the roles of the State Police, and on Friday 3 November 2023, this new and exciting appointment which sees her at the head of the prefecture of Macerata.

The motivation for the prestigious city merit awarded yesterday states: «for the high professional and human merits, the generous commitment and sense of duty with which during his long and brilliant career he has worked to protect legality and public safety, in a profitable relationship of collaboration and discussion with the institutions, representing a point of reference for values ​​for the Andria community, to which it has always been linked by sincere affection”.
