The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT), led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Matteo Salvini, has announced a huge investment of 700 million euros to upgrade the regional railway park. This financing, provided for in the distribution decree scheme, is intended for the purchase of electric or hydrogen-powered trains, with the aim of modernizing the public transport system in various regions of Italy.

In particular, the Molise region will receive 33.5 million euros for the purchase of five new trains. This measure is part of MIT’s broader plan to improve the efficiency and sustainability of rail transport, without resorting to extreme ideological solutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini expressed great satisfaction with this investment, declaring: “We confirm the determination to modernize the country, with maximum attention to all the Regions as we demonstrate in Molise, with choices that respect the environment without ideological force and with common sense”.

The secretary of the Molise League, Michele Marone, also welcomed the news with enthusiasm, publicly thanking Minister Salvini. “Good news for the transport of our Molise. Matteo Salvini’s MIT has allocated 33.5 million euros for 5 new, more modern and efficient trains, as foreseen by the national allocation decree scheme. Fundamental resources, intended for high-performance vehicles electric or hydrogen powered, therefore truly environmentally friendly, without falling into mere ideology. I thank the minister for yet another demonstration of attention to our region,” Marone said in a statement.
