Yesterday at the “S. Barbara” in Milan, the handover took place at the top of the “Lombardy Trentino-Alto Adige” Group of the Army, involved in the “Safe Roads” operation.

After about six months of operation, Colonel Andrea Francesco Schifeo, commander of the 7th Alpine Regiment of Belluno, passed the baton to Colonel Massimiliano Ferraresi, commander of the 3rd Mountain Land Artillery Regiment of Remanzacco (UD), both regiments belonging to the Alpine Brigade “Julia”.

The Group operated in the cities of Bergamo, Bolzano, Brescia, Como, Milan, Merano, Monza, Varese and at the state borders, combating and intervening in criminal acts in the main urban centres, with particular attention to particularly sensitive objectives such as railway stations railways, highly frequented areas of historical-cultural interest, places of worship and institutional headquarters.

At the beginning of this year, the Group further implemented a strengthening of the presence of the military in the area and the creation of new additional surveillance services, strategically defined in coordination with the Prefectures and Police Headquarters of the various provinces involved.

Through cooperation with local authorities and close synergy with other law enforcement agencies, the Group has played a decisive role in combating crime, intervening in numerous different cases throughout the territory and thus contributing to creating a safer environment. for the population.
