The changes, on the basis of those already carried out during the events of previous years, mainly concern parking and road traffic bans and are aimed at protecting the numerous pedestrians who will cross the northern area of ​​Reggio between Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Among the main innovations compared to previous events, the closure of Gavassa to traffic, except for residents and those going to businesses, to protect the inhabitants of the hamlet from traffic.

Signs and road signs will be placed throughout the north-east of the city and on the arterial roads to indicate prohibitions, diversions and alternative routes. It is recommended to reach the areas surrounding the Arena and the Arena itself on foot, by bicycle to the bike collection and storage points, or by collective means of transport to the car parks and other permitted points.

Several streets near the Rcf Arena will be affected by measures to modify traffic and parking from Friday 24 May until traffic flows away at the end of the event. A part of Piazzale Europa will be closed from Thursday 23rd to allow the setting up of the “Villaggio Le Reggiane” at the same time as the red zone will be established with the pedestrianization of via dell’Aeronautica, in the stretch between via Agosti (included) and via Caduti delle Reggiane (excluded), via Montagnani Marelli will also be closed (corridor reserved for emergency vehicles)

Between Friday night and early Saturday afternoon, Piazzale Europa will be closed (completely) and via Agosti up to via dell’Aeronautica, via del Chionso, between via Taddei and via dell’Aeronautica, via Adua towards the east with the obligation to turn into via Bligny, via Agosti, piazzale Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, via Taddei, via Vertoiba, via Caduti delle Reggiane and exit 3 of the ring road in both directions. However, residents and those going to activities will be able to access the area. All measures could be brought forward or made more restrictive if the police deem it necessary to protect the safety of pedestrians present. Furthermore, from Saturday evening until the outflow of traffic, via Gramsci will be closed to traffic (from via Bovio to via Adua).

From the night of Thursday 23 May the parking ban will come into force with removal for a portion of Piazzale Europa, while from the night of Friday 24 the parking bans will come into force in via Aeronautica, via del Partigiano, via Agosti, via Officine Meccaniche Reggiane , via Marro, via Mozart (from via Beethoven to the car park entrance), via Caduti delle Reggiane, via Vertoiba, via Saragat, via del Chionso and in the parking area in front of the Loris Malaguzzi centre. In the stadium area and in Mancasale it will be possible to park in via Taddei, piazzale Romano, Lari, Atleti Azzurri d’Italia (camper parking), and in the two parking areas of via Ruini, via Filangeri and the former Ente Fiera car park.

The local police of Reggio Emilia and the public relations office of the municipality will monitor the entire event to ensure widespread dissemination of information in real time and the smooth running of the event. The Municipality’s public relations office for changes to traffic routes answers the number 0522.456660 and will be active on Friday 24th from 8.30am to 6.30pm, on Saturday 25th from 8.30am to 8.30pm. The local police will employ all available personnel to ensure road safety throughout the affected area. On Friday, 15 patrols will be deployed while around 90 patrols are planned for Saturday which, divided into four shifts, will cover the whole day 24 hours a day until the end of the event on Sunday night. Local police operators will be supported by over 30 civil protection volunteers. The local police headquarters in via Brigata Reggio 28 will not open to the public on Saturday.
