ARPA extends the yellow warning for thunderstorms in the province of Pavia until tomorrow

PAVIA – The operations room of the regional Civil Protection has issued a yellow alert for hydrogeological, hydraulic and storm risks in the province of Pavia, which remains in force throughout today and for a good part of tomorrow.

Widespread rainfall and possible strong thunderstorms

For today, May 22, frequent and intense showers and thunderstorms are expected, with locally strong phenomena more likely in the afternoon, which could also affect the Pavia plain. The phenomena should subside by evening.

Tomorrow, May 23, from the early hours of the morning, a new unstable impulse will bring scattered precipitation, mainly in the form of showers and thunderstorms. The phenomena will be more insistent on the western sectors in the early hours of the day, and then spread eastwards from late morning and afternoon.

Areal precipitation is expected with cumulative amounts of between 15 and 30 mm in 12 hours in the western sectors and the plain, with possible isolated peaks of between 30 and 50 mm in the areas affected by the storm cores.

Furthermore, an intensification of the wind is expected from the south-western quadrants on the border reliefs.
