SAN MARCELLO – It is possible to discover the wonders of the sky by booking a visit to the Pistoia mountain observatory by calling the San Marcello Library on 0573621289.

Night sky observation: from 1 September to 30 June: Friday and Saturday at 9pm (only for the month of June the visit starts at 9.30pm); from 1 July to 31 August Monday, Friday and Saturday at 9.30pm.

Observation of the Sun: Tuesday and Thursday 10am (from 1 July to 31 August Tuesday and Sunday).

The visits they last on average about 2 hours and it is preferable to arrive at least in advance to purchase the entrance ticket (5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children under 14), payment can only be made by debit or credit card of credit.

The Observatory will welcome you Pistoiese Mountain Amateur Astronomers Group GAMP, which, in addition to making visitors aware of the beauties of the sky and carrying out educational activities for schools, carries out an important study activity, such that the Pistoia Mountain Astronomical Observatory is ranked 14th in the world in the field of search for NEAs, i.e. asteroids whose orbit is close to that of the earth.
