Attacks at Collemaggio and Castello Terminals, 4 residence bans

Four residence bans: these are the precautionary provisions issued by the Court of L’Aquila against the young people held responsible for some attacks that occurred at the Castle Park and at the Collemaggio Terminal.

The investigations that led to the identification and arrest of the attackers – 5 boys originally from Tunisia – were carried out by the police of the L’Aquila station with the aid of video surveillance cameras. The deputy public prosecutor of L’Aquila, Marco Maria Cellini, had requested arrests – in prison – for the alleged perpetrators of assaults, robberies, damage and above all serious injuries to minors. The investigating judge decided to opt for i residence bans.

The most serious case dates back to last January: a boy, a minor, was surrounded by the group at the Collemaggio terminal and attacked with a stick, kicked and punched, so much so that he suffered several fractures.

As Il Messaggero reports, the prosecutor in his request for a precautionary measure highlighted how the five Tunisians had self-identified as “owners of urban areas in which to operate. The intimidating effect is affirmed not only with violence and the establishment of real gangs but also with intimidation by ethnic belonging, with the aim of committing more crimes, guaranteeing impunity and determining a condition of subjugation and silence of the victims.”
