Solemn commendation for Annapia Liguoro the 19 year old student of the Degni institute in Torre del Greco which won first prize at the “Donna Jewl per GenGenevé” which was held in Geneva from 9 to 12 May. It was the mayor who delivered it Luigi Mennella who said: “Passion, study and determination are the characteristics that have characterized his training, with the hope that he can achieve increasingly important goals”.
In his room on the first floor of Baronial Palace, the mayor also awarded praise to the other four students who participated, with their creations, in the project organized in collaboration with Assocoral: Mariarosaria Bencivenga, Gabriella Raiola, Alessandro Scognamiglio and Aurora Vernassi.
A phrase by Eleanor Roosevelt was chosen for them: “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.
The five students also illustrated the motivations behind the individual jewels created and the techniques used for their manufacturing.
Listening to them, among others, the head teacher Benedetta Rostan and the president of Assocoral Vincenzo Aucella, together with a delegation of teachers and relatives: «We are proud of our children who are giving us so much satisfaction – said the principal – This is yet another demonstration of the excellent work that the teaching staff is doing accomplishing”.
Finally, Mayor Luigi Mennella took the opportunity to reiterate the close synergy that the administration has started with the Degni institute and Assocoral and which will have new life on the occasion of the next cultural events that the organization intends to promote.
