Carabinieri operation leads to the arrest of a 29-year-old for possession of hashish and the reporting of a pensioner for cocaine
In Taranto, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Taranto Company arrested a 29-year-old with no criminal record and reported a pensioner as part of an operation aimed at combating drug trafficking.
In the previous days, careful investigative activity led to the identification of two buildings located in different neighborhoods of the city, considered potential drug dealing locations. These areas, close to public establishments and meeting places, attracted numerous hirers already known to investigators.
In one of the apartments, the Carabinieri raided the home of a 29-year-old, above suspicion and with no criminal record, who had recently moved in with his family. During the search, four blocks of one hundred grams of hashish each, a precision scale, a knife with traces of narcotic substance and sachets for packaging the doses were found.
In the other neighbourhood, the soldiers checked a pensioner already known to the police. In his home, several grams of cocaine divided into doses and packaging material were found.
All the seized drugs were sent to the LASS of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Taranto for analysis. The 29-year-old was placed under house arrest, while the pensioner was reported free. Both remain innocent until finally convicted.
