awarded classes and students of the “Mannucci” high school

ANCONA – “The only blood to donate, not to shed”. A message that starts from young people and reaches young people. It is the appeal formulated and shared by students of the fourth and fifth classes of the “E. Mannucci” of Ancona who joined the AVIS call for the design of an artistic project, aimed at promoting the culture of donation and active citizenship and the values of volunteering and solidarity. The boys involved, just under fifty, accompanied by the director of the Institute, Luca Serafini, and the teachers, were awarded today in the Municipality, during a well-attended ceremony, by the president of AVIS Ancona Saverio Taglioni and the municipal administrators.

The first prize (a check for 1200 euros to spend on school materials and equipment) was awarded for the creation of a highly symbolic bookmark, two hands ready to collect the donation. The second (check for 800 euros) to a key ring/mobile phone holder with an attractive design, the third (check for 500 euros) to a video that highlights the blood tragically shed following accidents, crimes, wars and other sad current events and – on the other hand – the blood made available to save human lives. The project strongly engaged the students, who used the three-dimensional printer to package the prototype and who, above all, dedicated time and energy to thinking about the contents, internalizing the value expressed by the historic association, which has been operating for almost a century in the territory in collaboration with the Transfusion Service of the regional hospital. Each was given a certificate and a free AVIS water bottle.
