L’AQUILA – A walk to discover the aqueducts, on the trail of a now remote past, whose testimonies have in many cases reached us, and of more recent infrastructures, thanks to which, every day, the most precious good leaves the home faucet. For World Water Day 2024, Gran Sasso Acqua spa, which manages the integrated water cycle in 32 municipalities in the L’Aquila area, has promoted a series of engaging initiatives to raise community awareness of the importance of sustainable management of water resources, which they will end on Saturday 25 May with an excursion aimed at adults and children.
Gran Sasso Acqua organized a walk for them to discover the ancient waterways, guided by “Carla’s Visits” of Carla Ciccozzi that with the support of the professor Maurizio Leopardiengineer and former president of GSA itself, has prepared a compelling path.
We will start from the Torrione, passing through the castle, we will walk on the new underground services, to discover the old aqueducts until we reach the Fountain of the 99 Spouts, where the award ceremony will also take place for the winning class of the contest also organized by the GSA.
Last March 22nd, on the occasion of World Water Day 2024, Gran Sasso Acqua released a video entitled “Shut the tap” in the IV and V classes of primary schools, which involved children, making them protagonists in promoting awareness about fresh water, presented its project to the primary schools of the municipality of L’Aquila and the other municipalities managed by the company, urging pupils to design commercials to spread the themes of World Water Day 2024.
The classes that decided to participate in the project had carte blanche to give free rein to their imagination in creating an advert and a jury made up of GSA employees will select the winners.
