On Thursday the Peppino Impastato Library celebrates Legality Day

On May 23, on the occasion of the Day that commemorates the victims of all mafias, the Villa Fastiggi Library dedicated to Peppino Impastato, dedicates an exhibition to the journalist and political activist murdered by the mafia. Thursday 23 May in Italy is celebrated Legality Day with which the victims of all mafias are commemorated. For the occasion, the Peppino Impastato Library – Villa Fastiggi remembers the journalist and political activist murdered by the mafia, dedicating a book to him exhibition set up in the new outdoor space.

Impastato (Cinisi, Palermo, 1948 – there 1978), is a figure of civil and human inspiration: born in a mafia environment, he was not afraid to make legality and justice his reference values, always taking the side of the oppressed, against corrupt politicians and criminals. Strengthened by this spirit, over time the library has created a collection of books suitable for young readers and beyond, which talk about legality and justice, which also includes the texts that reconstruct the historical, human and cultural figure of Peppino Impastato.

Also on May 23rd the Istituto Comprensivo Galileo Galilei organizes a March of legality which part at 9.30 from the Antonio Gramsci Primary School of Villa Fastiggi to stop at the Peppino Impasto Library and end in the garden of the Galileo Galilei Secondary School. The initiative involves the pupils of the fourth and fifth classes of the primary school of Villa Fastiggi, Villa Ceccolini and Borgo Santa Maria.
